View through a Kaleidoscope | An afternoon of lectures on Indian art |17 Sep 2016 | 3 - 6.30 pm 

Piramal Art Foundation invites you for a lecture series on 17 Sep 2016 at the Piramal Museum of Art. This series will focus on artists who are part of the current exhibition - Kaleidoscope - Art from the Piramal collection, while touching upon the broader artistic and social context from which the artist evolved. Delivered by experts from academic and artistic fraternity, the lectures will throw light on Indian art as it evolved in the period between 1950 and 2000, the uniqueness of each artist’s journey and the relationship the artists shared with their contemporaries.

  1. Dr. Ashrafi Bhagat- An overview of the Madras Art Movement with an emphasis on  artists  T.R.P.Mookiah and K.Ramanujam.
  2. Ms. Rekha Rao – On the life and work of K.K.Hebbar. Her lecture will be followed by a short film on the artist.
  3. Ms. Gayatri Sinha – On Krishen Khanna.
  4. Ms. Jeroo Chavda- On the life and work of Shiavax Chavda.
  5. Ms. Shubhalakshmi Shukla- Diety or Devourer: Invested Meaning- Ganesh Pyne and Bikash Bhattacharya.
